I walk past you every day. I see birds perched on your tall canopy, hear their calls. I walk past, and yet I don’t even notice you – hidden down the track, behind the building. But when I walk up to you, I’m mesmerised by your branches, your feet, your skin. The air is filled with the scent of your leaves. Your capsules fall to the ground unnoticed. I thank you for your beauty, your grandeur, your presence.
