Michael Reid Clay 2025

Capsules

These vessels are time capsules, holding onto the quiet, often unnoticed beauty of our surrounding flora. Each piece captures a fleeting moment in its life cycle, freezing it in time as a reminder of how delicate and beautiful these stages can be.

The collection is decorated using Mishima and Sgraffito techniques, with fine lines and intricate textures that invite a closer look. Microcrystal glazes create intricate surface details, enhancing the sense of discovery, while unglazed areas reveal the raw ceramic, adding contrast and grounding each piece.

These pots reflect the fragility and strength of nature, celebrating the little details we often overlook. They invite us to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the simple beauty that’s always present if we take the time to notice.

Michael Reid Murrurundi is a unique regional destination for exhibitions of contemporary Australian art and fine food & coffee surrounded by our beautiful gardens.

Situated in the thoroughbred, vineyard and coal-belt of the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW, in the small but significant town of Murrurundi, the gallery is an accessible drive from Moree, Armidale, Scone and Sydney. Established in 2006 the gallery, and its ever-growing botanic surroundings, absorb and echo the seasons with a robust exhibition calendar.
