A collection of hand-carved ceramic capsules exploring form, texture, and technique…
This exhibition invites you to explore a collection of hand-carved ceramic capsules, each crafted with intention and precision. Combining wheel-thrown and coil-built techniques, these pieces represent a journey through form, texture, and surface design. Every vessel in this body of work was made and fired in 2025 in my home studio, embodying a year of exploration and refinement through clay.
Beyond the finished forms, Carving into Clay also offers a look into the resources and knowledge that shape my practice. From mentors who have guided my hands to techniques learned from instructors abroad, this exhibition highlights the exchange of ideas and experiences that continue to shape my work.
Through intricate surface decoration, including the delicate art of sgraffito and the precision of mishima, I carve, etch, and inlay to reveal layers of pattern. But what distinguishes these two techniques, and how do they transform a ceramic surface? Visitors will have the chance to learn more about these processes and even witness them in action during a live demonstration.
Whether you are drawn to the tactile nature of clay, the meticulous details of carved surfaces, or the broader story of artistic evolution, Carving into Clay is an invitation to take a closer lookânot just at the pieces themselves, but at the journey that brought them into being.

Join The Community
The Bond Street Event Centre is an independent social enterprise with a strong focus on community participation. As a social enterprise, the profits from our commercial activities are used to support a variety of community-based events and programs.
LEARNING – The facilitation of life-long learning is the core objective of our efforts as a social enterprise. Since our inception in 2016, we have worked with many amazing minds from near and far to deliver fascinating talks, workshops and discussion groups; addressing diverse topics and exploring thought-provoking questions.
ART – Regular art exhibitions are held within our venue to promote the recognition of talented local artists. For many this is the first time exhibiting their work, and we take an active role in ensuring they have the support they need to deliver an exhibition they are proud of. Each exhibition involves an opening night, and gains much exposure during its display.
ENVIRONMENT – As part of our progressive business model, we endeavour to be an ecologically sustainable and future-respecting enterprise. We are the meeting place of multiple organisations addressing the climate crisis, and we host regular talks by experts addressing environmental concerns of current and future generations. A portion of the power used on our grounds is provided by our numerous solar panels, and there are a number of water-saving measures installed throughout the building.
YOUTH – A great deal of our focus as a social enterprise is the empowerment and advocacy of young members of the community. Many of our art exhibitions and live music performances have provided a platform for young creative minds to present a representation of themselves through their creative means, while gaining valuable lifelong skills in areas such as public speaking and performance.
