A set of three speckled white mugs with a blue rutile base in various sizes. Please take caution when drinking a hot beverage in this vessel. Due to the fine throwing of this clay, hot liquids will make this vessel hot, do not touch if it is too hot to handle.
Looks: These wheel-thrown mugs have the strength of mid-fire porcelain and stoneware. The white speckled glaze provides a contrast to the blue rutile glaze which is textured through carving the clay beneath. It breaks to a brown giving it an ‘antique’ look.
Feels: These mugs are perfect for those who prefer smaller cups of tea or coffee. They are not smaller hug mugs. Sometimes you feel like a baby cup of tea and sometimes you just need that little bit more.
Second: There is an obvious thickness to the glaze on the inside rims and each mug is not perfectly round. An aesthetic flaw which does not affect its functionality. Sizing is intentional to fit with the three bears – mama bear, papa bear and baby bear.
